God's Glimpse
5 September, 2014
Suffice it to say it has been a rough week. After attending our church's Women's Vision Night as the photographer, I ended the night in sobbing tears during the last worship song. Some months ago, a friend had told me to ask God to give m

e a "glimpse" of Himself, when I am struggling (or not), so I found myself once again crying out to my Heavenly Father on my way home from Bakersfield. This new song "Mercy" by Matt Redman came on the KLOVE station, and I sang these words from the time I heard them until I tumbled into bed at around 11:00 PM. "May I never lose the wonder, OH the wonder of Your mercy. May I sing Your Hallelujah, Hallelujah, Amen!"
A bit before 2 AM, my Pomeranian woke me up for a potty break, as he usually does in the middle of the night. When I rolled out of bed, I noticed a bright light flooding in through the window, underneath where the shade was partially drawn, so I lifted the shade all the way up, and this is what my eyes beheld! Once I had taken the dogs out, I quickly returned to the window, hoping this phenomenon had not disappeared--the perfect cross of moonlight was still there, shining right through the window where I sleep! I really thought I was crazy, because I had never seen anything like this before, so on my way to get my camera, I stepped out the master bedroom door to double-check. All there was in the night sky was a circle of light around the moon. Then I went out the side door at the front of my house and stood on my porch, and I saw the exact same thing; only a circle of light around a three-quarter moon.
I rushed back to my bedroom, amazed that the light at the foot of the cross was still touching my window and started frantically taking pictures, flipping through settings, and erasing the terrible shots, before this "fleeting glimpse" of my God and Savior eluded me. Within ten minutes, I finally happened upon the perfect setting to capture the moment. I managed to get three pictures that portrayed my Father's love towards me, so I decided to name them:
THE I AM--"Omniscient, Omnipotent, Omnipresent"--GOD OF LOVE.
After thanking Him for His love, and singing the lyrics to "Mercy" once again, I faced myself towards the window and fell back into one of the most peaceful sleeps I have had in a very, very long time. Before drifting off, I kept peeking out the window at the cross of light that Jesus sent down to me, and although it dimmed and waned, it continued to shine for the next hour until the moon set behind the mountains near my house.
Whether I am crazy, I know not, if this can be explained scientifically, I care not, if I was just at the right place at the right time, I wonder not. But what I do know is this: God loves me deeply enough to bestow upon me His salvation (WHEN I ACCEPTED CHRIST AS MY SAVIOR), and He continues to prove His love in ways that I cannot fathom, because I am His child. What you need to know is that He sent His son, Jesus, to die and pay for your sins, and rise again from the dead, so that you, too, can experience God's love and salvation and someday go to Heaven when you die. Because I love you, I continually pray for all of you that you will come to know the Father's love, through His Son, Jesus Christ. JOHN 3:16
